Fort de l'Écluse

From June 15 until September 14 you can visit at Léaz, France, the Fort l'Ecluse. It is only a 30min drive from Geneva, and it is the natural entrance to France from Switzerland. It was founded by a Duke of Savoy and nowadays you can climb its 1.165 handmade steps to be amazed by a stunning view. During the summer you can also enjoy art shows and concerts.

ICV Tandem Coffee again!

Tomorrow May 31 the ICVolunteers association is organizing another Language Café in Geneva. Their idea is to have tandems of different languages, while people enjoy some drinks and food. They will also be doing these tandems all through summer every pther week, so there's no excuse now to practice your no-native language!

Rooftop Day

Last year, Ronorp organized the first Rooftop Day at Zurich, Basel and Lucern. This year it will also be organized in Geneva on June 28!!!

The idea is simple: those lucky enough to have a garden, balcony or rooftop terrace and who want to host an event, can e-mail geneve@ronorp.net until May 31. It can be a little party, a bbq, a yoga class, an art exhibition, a game... You name it! And Ron will be kind enough to offer the beers!

On Saturday May 24 and Saturday June 14, anonymous families in Geneva are opening their beautiful houses to the public. All the funds collected will go to help the people in need in the area.

Humanizing war?

At the Musée Rath you can find from April 30 to July 20 an exhibition due to ICRC's 150 years of humanitarian action.

With the title Humanizing war?, the Musée Rath will lead you through ICRC's history since 1863, and the historical events that ended with the foundation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

At Geneva's botanical garden (which of course I expect all of you to have already visited!) you can find from from May 14 until October 19 a curious presentation of palmtrees relationship with human beings and the use which we give them: medicines, food, building, weaving, etc.

An interesting exhibition you shouldn't miss and, of course, for free!

Concert at Madeleine's church

On Sunday May 18 and Wednesday May 21, the Ensemble Vocal Orphée will proudly act at the Madeleine church at Geneva's Old Town. They will play three works from Zelenka and will be accompanied by the Orchestre Baroque du Léman.

CATS by the Geneva Amateur Operatic Society

From May 16 to May 24 you can enjoy at Nyon the amazing musical show CATS, with music by the all-times-famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on the Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. Special mention to the outstanding performance of Rumpleteazer… keep an eye on that cat!

Horse Show

If you are a horse lover, drop by Fnac to buy tickets for Sacha Houcke's show La magie du cheval, which you can enjoy at Onex until April 21. The Houcke circus was founded in 1834 and since then, six generations have been working in the family business. In this show, 16 horses, trainers, comedians and acrobats share the stage so that you can enjoy a show unlike any other!

The Vagina Monologues

Eve Ensler, Tony Award winning playwright, performer and activist, is the author of The Vagina Monologues, which has been translated to more than 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries.

On March 28 and 29, 2014 you can enjoy this fun play at the Théatre des Grottes, where all income will be sent to a women's association.
